Looking for a memorable cultural stop along Highway 8 in Kalajoki – and a place to find authentic local souvenirs? Iso-Pahkala Ceramics offers groups an inspiring guided visit that combines local craftsmanship, family history and a relaxing coffee break with a local sweet treat in a charming maritime setting.

Founded in 1972, Iso-Pahkala Ceramics is a family-owned company producing durable, high-fired Nordic stoneware in Kalajoki. The studio is currently led by the second generation, while the third generation is already growing into the craft. During the visit, guests hear the story of the family business and its development over more than five decades. The tour includes both the spacious sales exhibition and the production facilities, giving visitors insight into how handcrafted ceramics are designed and created on site. Guided tours are available in English, German and Swedish.

The on-site exhibition showcases a wide selection of functional tableware, gift items and ceramic art. It is an excellent opportunity to purchase authentic, locally made souvenirs and high-quality Nordic gifts that are built to last.

Refreshments are served in Café Seili, located next to the exhibition space. The café´s maritime theme is visible in the interior design, from the furniture to the decorative touches. Coffee or tea with a local sweet pastry is included in the visit and can be arranged for groups year-round. During summer, Café Seili is open daily for all visitors.

Conveniently located between Kalajoki town center and the Sand Dune area Hiekkasärkät, the ceramics studio is easily accessible by bus, with ample parking for groups of all sizes.
