Kalajoki by Bus

Guided Bus Tours in July 2026
Almost a hundred years have passed since the first hotel opened in the Kalajoki Sand Dunes area. Over the centuries, many livelihoods have shaped the region alongside tourism—from fishing and kantele-making to shipbuilding and trade. Did you know that the old marketplace of Plassi was once one of Finland's busiest centers for tar trade?
Hop on a minibus and discover Kalajoki beyond the surface! This 1.5-hour guided tour takes you from the dunes to the riverside town center—through history to the present day, from one story to another.
The tour includes a stop at Havula Manor, where you can enjoy coffee or tea with a slice of homemade cake. Along the way, we'll also share tips on things to see and do in Kalajoki.
Your guide is Helena, a local returnee, and transportation is provided by Wiimax. Welcome to discover the many sides of Kalajoki!
